Suggested routes from downtown Athens to Piraeus Port
1. By bus: you
should take the bus number 049 from Omonia or the bus number 040 from
Syntagma . Both buses bound for Piraeus. Then, you will stop to
Karaiskaki square (Centre Of Piraeus ) and you will walk about 10
minutes in order to reach the port of Piraeus. These buses run every
15-20 minutes. The schedule of buses in Athens runs from 6:30 a.m. until
22:00 pm.Attention! The route of the bus 040 from Syntagma to Piraeus runs 24 hours per day. Ticket price: 1.40 euros.Upon your arrival at the port of Piraeus you will go to gates E6 and E7 where are the Ferries for Astypalaia.
2. By Metro: To
reach the port of Piraeus you have to take the green metro line. This
line starts from Kifissia station and ends to Piraeus station (terminal
station ), just in front of the port, opposite the gates E6 and E7 where
are the Ferriess for Astypalaia. You can use the metro lines from 5:30
a.m. until 00:00 in midnight. On Friday and Saturday, the function is
extended until 2:00 a.m. The route from Omonia to Piraeus lasts about 25
minutes. There are trains to Piraeus every 10 minutes. Ticket price:
1.40 euros.
3. By Taxi: If
you use a taxi to go to Piraeus Port , the route lasts approximately
20 to 30 minutes , depending on traffic. The distance is about 10 km.An
indicative price path is 20 euros during the day (06:00-24:00) and 25
euros during the night (24:00-05:00). You will tell to the driver to
take you to Gates E6 and E7.
Suggested routes from Athens Airport to Piraeus Port.
1. By bus: You'll
get the bus X96 which runs direct routes from Athens International
Airport (Eleftherios Venizelos) to the port of Piraeus. There are
routes 24 hours a day and the route lasts about 85 minutes. During the
day (6:00 to 22:30) the frequency of service is every 20 minutes and
from 22:30 at night until 05:00 am, the frequency of service is every 40
minutes. Ticket Price : € 5.Upon arrival at the port of Piraeus you will go to gates E6 and E7 where are the Ferries for Astypalaia.
2. By Metro: The
metro station is located just outside from the airport. You will get
the blue line from the airport and at Monastiraki station where you
will change the train and take the green line, which terminates at the
port of Piraeus, opposite from the gates E6 and E7 where are the Ferries
for Astypalaia. The airport metro station is open from 06:00 am to
11:00 pm. The first route runs at 06:33 am and the last at 10:33 p.m.
Service rusn all day, every half hour (at 3 'and 33' minute). The
duration of the route is 1 hour and 20 minutes. Ticket price: 8 euros.
Upon arrival at the port of Piraeus you will go to gates E6 and E7
where are the ships for Astypalaia.
3. By Taxi: If you use a taxi to go to Piraeus Port , the route lasts approximately 45 minutes, depending on traffic. An indicative price path is 45 euros during the day (06:00-24:00) and 60 euros during the night (24:00-05:00). You will tell to the driver to take you to Gates E6 and E7.
